From survival to stability

We help families break the cycle of poverty by increasing incomes and empowering women, young people and marginalized groups to know and claim their rights.

Instead of imposing outside solutions, we invest in local organisations and community leadership. Because when communities design their own solutions, they work better — and they last.

We also partner with universities, NGOs, and donors to turn equity and localization commitments into real practice.

The Challenges are numerous and deeply connected

Our work is focused on Sharing and Sustaining the Power for Community-led Change.
Long-term Organisation Strengthening
Action Research
and Advocacy

To empower more allies to influence decision-makers and funders to share the power with communities.

To share the power in decision-making and controlling resource allocation with grassroots women's organizations

Participatory
Grant Making

To sustain empowerment gains for women and youth leaders even after the project

We practice trust-based partnership development that centre local expertise, and support grassroots innovation. Through our systematic approach and tools in co-design and co-implementation with community-based actors, Connective Paths increases the livelihoods and freedoms of women and their families with strategies based on global evidence and grassroots experiences.

We provide longer-term grants to women’s NGOs and grassroots organizations in the Global South spanning four to eight years in order to allow the organisations sufficient time to work on issues that are most relevant to them, strengthen institutional capacity and to build meaningful engagement with community members, other CSOs and government actors.

Further, we evaluate our projects based on what communities themselves define as impact and positive changes in their lives. This ensures the relevance of the programmes and increases chances of community buy-in and sustainability—beyond project cycles. Lastly, we raise the profile and the voices of our community partners in our global advocacy, and highlight their contributions and community philanthropic actions.

For Connective Paths, our partners are not just recipients of aid, they are the leaders and the greatest supporters of change.

Our Approach

Hear from our Partners:
The first 3 years of the SiSTER Programme

Women in underserved communities have increased their household incomes, 3-fold. From an initial 6 village groups growing their community savings and loans associations (CSLA) and food banks, there are now close to 100 village groups forming and strengthening their CSLAs and micro-enterpises.

Why Trust Connective Paths with Your Support?

Because all funds generated goes where it matters most — to the people creating change in their own communities.

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions or expensive projects designed from afar. Instead, we partner with trusted local organisations who understand their communities, their challenges, and what truly works. Local leadership means better results. When communities design their own solutions, programmes are more relevant, more effective, and more likely to last long after the funding ends.

We focus on lasting impact, not quick fixes.

Your support helps:

  • Increase incomes for women and their families

  • Empower women, young people and other marginalized groups to know and claim their rights

  • Strengthen local organisations so they can continue their work independently

We take our partnerships seriously.
  • We work with selected grassroots partners, that we have worked with or were identified through our networks

  • We provide long-term support, accompaniment and close follow-up to set them up for success and sustainability

  • We prioritise transparency, learning, and accountability

We aim to strengthen civil society, in a time of shrinking civic space, funding cuts and rising authoritarianism.
  • We promote community philanthropy and volunteerism

  • We provide trainings and coaching on local and alternative fundraising

  • We facilitate collaboration and resource sharing across organizations

Connective Paths Foundation has been granted an ANBI Status.

ANBI (Algemeen nut beogende instelling in Dutch) refers to a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO), which works for the general well-being of society. Only organisations that meet strict conditions can be designated as an ANBI by the Dutch Tax Authorities. More information can be found on belastingdienst.nl and here.

Every amount you give helps build stronger communities that can shape their own future.

Because real change doesn’t come from outside — it grows from within.
